Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities

Meetings watch: Clovis Municipal Schools Board of Education

The Clovis Municipal Schools Board of Education is scheduled to meet at 5:30 p.m. today at the school district’s headquarters on Main Street.

Agenda items include an easement agreement with the city of Clovis for Yucca Middle School.

According to the agreement details, the easement would be for the installation, maintenance, repair, removal, replacement and operation of a vault and water pipeline upon, under and across land now owned by the school district.

Also slated is discussion on concession stands. Officials said effective March 1, all concession stands must be in compliance with the regulations. Every time a concession stand is open there must be a Person in Charge (PIC) who has completed the Food Handler Training Program (A class at Clovis Community College or certification in Lubbock or Amarillo, cost $125) and have a certified Food Handlers Card.

These requirements are only in place if the organization is serving food that is not in pre-packaged containers (pizza, hot dogs, nachos, etc.).

Other meeting agenda items include:

• Discussion of training and experience report

• Cannon Air Force Base update

• Human Resources report
