Water board seeks resident to serve on committee

The City of Clovis Water Policy Advisory Committee is in need of one Clovis resident.

Applications are currently being taken for the opportunity to serve on the committee, according to a press release from the city. Water Policy Advisory Committee members help advocate for water conservation and its sustainability, and help with the following:

• Fostering water conservation not only in the city but also in Curry County; advise and assist the city commission and Clovis residents in developing and applying water conservation principles and programs;

• Encouraging water conservation by Clovis residents; sponsor and conduct appropriate forms of publicity, education and coordination as deemed necessary by the committee to enhance water conservation.

• Investigating, researching and promoting water-related matters to sustain water availability.

• Establishing short and long term water policy recommendations for the city.;

• Advising the city on matters relating to the Ute Water Pipeline Project.
