The Curry County Commission will meet 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the North Annex of the Clovis-Carver Public Library.
Agenda items include:
- Department updates and a special update on the April 3 election for a $9.3 million bond issue for a Curry County Adult Detention Center expansion and renovation.
- Signing closing papers on purchases of a property to allow Master Trim to move in the event voters approve the bond issue. The county would purchase Solar Shield on 805 N. Norris Street on behalf of Master Trim, located at 800 N. Main Street. The county would also purchase Master Trim's current property to allow for jail expansion. The total cost would be $345,000.
- A budget transfer of $5,100, taking advantage of lower-than-expected property/liability insurance premiums to cover technology and professional expenses.
- A joint powers agreement with the Village of Grady for $20,000, covered by the Law Enforcement Protection Fund.
- Approval to auction five vehicles — three with at least 100,000 miles.
- Approval of a $17,087.93 contract with GWC Construction for asbestos and lead-based paint remediation at 417 Gidding Street (Post office building). The project is expected to take four days.
- Approval of a Curry County organization chart, explaining chain of command in the county.
- Renewal of a resolution declaring a fire danger emergency in the county.
- Requests to change rental rates at the Curry County Events Center, Fairgrounds Pavilion and Mounted Patrol Arena.
Events center would go up by $100 for arena rental ($1,300 full day, $800 four hours or less from $1,200 and $700, respectively), and separate rates would be established for concerts and religious functions ($2,000 each). Banquet rates would go from $2,000 to $4,000.
Pavilion rentals would go from $150 to $400 per day, with cleaning charges doubling from $100 to $200.
Mounted Patrol Arena rates would go from $150 to $300 for equestrian events and from $150 to $1,000 for non-equestrian events. Use of lights is an additional $300 for equestrian events and $500 for non-equestrian events.
