ENMU musical production opens auditions to public

PNT staff reports

Members of the public can audition for Eastern New Mexico University’s fall musical production of “Into the Woods,” according to a news release from ENMU.

Auditions are set to begin at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 30 in Buchanan Hall in the Music Building.

All roles are open, including several non-singing roles.

Participants need to prepare 32 measures of a song, preferably from the musical theatre genre, and a one-minute monologue, according to the release. An accompanist will be provided, so candidates should bring sheet music.

The video is available at Landall’s Box Office or through Amazon.com.

Performances are scheduled for Oct. 27-30 in Buchanan Hall. Rehearsals are to be held evenings and Saturday mornings.

Actors and singers can sign up in a half-hour time slot on the Vocal Area Notice Board next to Music Building Room 207, or can call Jean Ornellas at 562-2561 or Jason Vest at 562-2371. Candidates should leave a message requesting a time, and they will be notified.

For more information, call Ornellas or Vest.
