1-10 Police blotter

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 11 p.m. Dec. 25 officers responded to the 2000 block of Gladstone for a report of a burglary in progress.

Officers discovered a window on the house was broken and found a woman inside.

The woman said it was her boyfriend’s house and she got mad at him and broke the window. She said she spoke to her boyfriend on the phone and encouraged officers to call him.

An officer called using her cell phone and a male answered, saying he was her boyfriend and it was a misunderstanding and officers could let her go.

The officer told the man he had to come to the house and talk to them before they could let her go and the man said he was stuck in a ditch in Portales but would get there soon.

More than an hour later, after several more phone calls with the man, who gave varied reasons why he still wasn’t there, officers called the place where the resident worked and found him there, determining he was not the man they had been speaking with on the woman’s phone.

The man came home and told officers the woman was his former girlfriend and did not have permission to be in his house.

Officers found several electronics items unplugged and some bottles of alcohol set next to the woman’s purse inside the house.

She was arrested for burglary.
