Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 8 p.m. March 23 officers responded to the 1000 block of Gila Street for a report of shots fired.

Witnesses told the officers they saw a vehicle drive by slowly with its headlights off and heard six shots fired.

Officers found skid marks, a beer can thrown into a driveway and one spent bullet casing.

About 2 p.m. March 24 an officer responded to a business in the 900 block of East First Street for a report of ammunition.

A man said he found a suitcase full of ammunition near a dumpster by his workplace.

The ammunition was assorted and the man told the officer if it was unclaimed and proven not to be stolen he would like to have it.

•••

Around 11 p.m. March 26 an officer was called to the 900 block of Hickory Street for a report of damage to vehicles.

Four people reported having their tires slashed while they were inside a facility for senior citizens.

The officer went to homes neighboring the facility, noting only one person was home and reported they hadn’t seen anything.

•••

About 8 p.m. March 28 an officer responded to a restart in the 700 block of Seventh Street in reference to a customer leaving without paying for his food.

A manager told the officer a man pulled up and ordered more than $18 worth of food.

When a server told the man his credit card was declined he told her he didn’t have any other way to pay.

The server said she asked for the food back and the man began eating the food fast and told her she couldn’t get it back.

The man then left the restaurant.

The officer found the man at a residence based on a description he was given of the vehicle and told him he needed to return and pay for the food he ate and the restaurant would not press charges.
