Still no suspects in restaurant fire

Nearly a month since a fire ravaged K-Bob’s Steakhouse, investigators are still working to determine who set the blaze.

Clovis Police Chief Steve Sanders said it has been determined the fire was an arson, but there are no suspects in the case.

“They’re looking at a variety of different angles for this fire,” he said, explaining city and state fire investigators are collaborating on the case.

An early morning fire destroyed the 43-year-old restaurant, except for an attached banquet hall firefighters saved, Nov. 25.

According to a police report, an off-duty Clovis firefighter, Shane Warner, reported the blaze after he saw smoke.

Warner said he approached the building and saw a chair lying on the ground near a shattered window on the front of the building and an open door on the north side.

He told police he pushed the door open and called out to see if anyone was inside but got no response.
