Time on the Job: Two years.

Background: Roach is a mom to six children including one foster child, ranging in age from five months to 15 years. Before opening her store, she was the office manager for Eastern New Mexico University Health Services.

Q. Describe what your job entails?

A. Buying and selling children’s clothing, furniture, toys and shoes, and I do lot’s of talking. I have a lot of customers who come in to talk.

Q. What is a typical day on the job like for you?

A. I come in and get my kids settled in and then customers start coming in. I go through stuff that people have brought me to sell, lots of laundry, answer the phone and paperwork.

Q. Why did you choose this job?

A. So I could be with my kids until they were ready for school.

Q. What type of training, if any, do you need for your job?

A. You just have to be good with customers and be able to talk and listen.

Q. What do you enjoy most about your job?

A. I enjoy talking to the people, I love it when my pregnant customers come back in with their babies. I see lots and lots of babies. I also like the social part of my job.
