Road to be closed for a week

A section of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Clovis will be closed for a week starting Monday.

According to a news release from Daniel Lyons, Project Manager for K. Barnett & Sons, the closure is for the EPCOR Aspen Street Meter Relocation project.

The project area is roughly 1/10th of a mile from Seventh Street north to Aspen Street along Dr. MLK, Jr. Blvd, and at the intersection of Aspen and Charlotte Streets.

The release says the project includes waterline relocation and installation of a new meter station.

Motorists should follow detour signs as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. will be closed from Seventh Street to Aspen Street.

Traffic will be directed to use Herb and Beta Streets to navigate around the road closure.

The release notes the road closure is expected to last the entire week for the waterline relocation.
