ENMU history prof honored

Eastern New Mexico University history Professor Donald “Doc” Elder has been elected a fellow of the American Astronautical Society.

According to a letter Elder received from the AAS he was recognized for his contributions to space history through his multiple books, his service to the AAS history committee, his work as series editor for the AAS History Series, and his committee leadership for the AAS Emme Award for Spaceflight Literature.

Elder was nominated for the honor by Mike Ciancone, systems engineer at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, the letter stated.
