Scholarships open for seniors

CLOVIS — Plateau’s Education Foundation has opened up its college scholarship applications for high school seniors, according to a company release.

Since 1993, the foundation has awarded more than $1.5 million to area students.

Scholarships range between $1,500 and $8,000 for area graduating high school seniors, while college juniors and seniors can apply for the $2,000 Tom M. Phelps Scholarship. Those applications are due Feb. 26.

The foundation is also accepting applications or college-bound high school seniors who are dependents of cooperative members. Those applications are due March 5.

Meal distribution changing

Clovis Municipal Schools is closing its grab and go meal sites on Wednesdays to allow for cleaning, and will distribute additional meals on Tuesdays.

Meals will be distributed 8 a.m.-noon Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday when school is in session. Children 18 or younger can get a meal, regardless of district enrollment and do not need to be accompanied by a parent.
