Obituary: Raymond Kenneth Fox Jr.

Raymond Kenneth Fox Jr., age 77, of Clovis, NM entered eternal rest on Friday, April 26, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be held on Friday May 3, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at The Chapel located at 1500 Thornton St. in Clovis, NM. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday May 4, 2024, at 1:00 pm at The Chapel with Rev. Kasey Creamer officiating. Kahlil Echerivel, Joshua Ford, Wesley Phillips, Jaquan Franklin, Lawanze Fox, and Melvin Payton Jr., Danny Sample Jr., will serve as pallbearers. Rev. Daniel Murrell II, Joshua Ford Sr, Robert Franklin, Derrick Franklin Sr, Eddie Ray Franklin, Charles Franklin, George Houston, and Aurelius Houston will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Raymond was a Caregiver with Interim Home health Care at the time of his passing Raymond worked at Newt & Butch's Roofing Inc. and the City of Clovis for many years. He was truly a jack of all trades bringing his diverse skills and knowledge to every role he undertook.

Raymond was born on September 16, 1946, to the late Raymond Kenneth Fox Sr. and Bettye Jean (Morehead) Murrell in Topeka, Kansas.

Raymond was known for his love of traveling, exercising, barbecuing, and keeping his yard well-kept. He was known for his love of spending time with his family and friends. He had a heart of gold and was loved by all who crossed his path. He was a devoted deacon of St. John Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Board, Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher. He was always ready to offer a helping hand with his unwavering compassion and selflessness.

Raymond leaves to cherish his memories of his devoted wife of 47 years Mamie Fox of the home, children: Raymond (Tamera) Fox III of Topeka, KS; Diedra Fox DeClerck (Anthony) of Wichita, KS; Corey Fox (Jasmine) of Topeka, KS; Tauna Franklin of Clovis, NM; Lamisha Fox-Millow of Florence, KY; and Brittny Fox of Clovis, NM; siblings: Gail A Fox of Clovis, NM; Terri McBride of Clovis, NM; and Daniel M. Murrell (Chivon) of Clovis, NM, 28 grandchildren, A host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Fox Sr, and Bettye Jean (Morehead) Murrell; sister Bonnie Sue Stewart; uncle Ortis Tunley Jr; and aunts; Delores Terrell, Shirley Jackson, Eleanor Tinley, and Mercedes Cox.
