Man jailed on child porn charges

CLOVIS — A Clovis man on probation for possessing child pornography in 2017 has been ordered to prison after repeating the offense, according to a news release from the district attorney.

Thomas Golden, 30, was on probation when the Department of Homeland Security contacted the Curry County Sheriff’s office in August “with information that Golden was downloading and sending child pornography,” the news release said.

Prosecutors said Golden admitted to the allegation. Judge Matt Chandler ordered Golden serve the remainder of his 10-year sentence for the probation violation.

“The community needs to be protected from you,” Chandler told Golden, according to the news release.

Golden is expected to spend the next eight years in custody.
