Roosevelt hospital receives award

PORTALES — Roosevelt General Hospital was one of five hospitals in the state to receive the New Mexico Hospital Association’s Hospital Improvement Innovation Network award, according to a release from RGH.

Other facilities receiving a critical access/rural hospital award are Taos’ Holy Cross Medical Center, Deming’s Mimbres Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home, Raton’s Miners’ Colfax Medical Center and Socorro General Hospital.

“To be recognized as one of the top community hospitals in New Mexico is an extraordinary accomplishment and one we are most proud of. It reflects the commitment of our team of dedicated staff to provide care of the highest quality while ensuring patients who entrust us with their care are kept safe,” said Kaye Green, CEO of Roosevelt General Hospital.

The Portales facility was credited with reducing patient falls by 34%, reducing hospital readmissions by almost 40%, and maintaining zero harm events in central line and catheter associated infections.
