Our people: Passionate about reaching out

My name is Jason Swann. I'm a husband to my wife Ginny for 13 years. I'm a father of three boys who are seven, four, and two. I've been a pastor at Faith Christian Family Church for nearly 16 years. I'm passionate about reaching people for Christ, capturing moments.

If you had a super power, what would it be and why?

If I had a superpower it would be the ability to pause, rewind, and fast-forward time. That way I could go back, and relive the best moments, pause when I wanted to stay in a moment, and soak it all in. I'd fast-forward through long waits at great restaurants and the MVD.

What are you reading?

Right now I'm reading Crushing from Bishop TD Jakes, 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership from John Maxwell, and the Gift of Struggle from a fellow New Mexican Bobby Herrera.

Favorite quote?

"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man." - George Bernard Shaw

What's an accomplishment you're proud of?

One of my favorite accomplishments is winning a state championship as a head coach in 2010 (Clovis Christian, six-man). As far as I know I'm still the youngest head coach to win a state championship in New Mexico football.

If you had to pick your last meal, what would it be?

There's this little restaurant in Florida that cooks fresh grouper on top of Louisiana style grits that is by far my favorite meal I've ever had.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years I want to be helping people. Whether that's growing their relationship with Christ, capturing a memory with a camera, or encouraging them to be their best self.

Tell us about your hobby:

My favorite hobby by far is photography. I've been blessed to photograph high school, college, and soon the NFL. It's one of the ways I stay connected to a game I love but no longer get to be a part of day in and day out.

What is your most prized possession?

My most prized possession is my Jeep. It's more than a car it's a tool to do things with my family. Go camping, hunting, fishing, etc ... we have lots of fun climbing mountains and seeing all that New Mexico has to offer because of it.
