ENMU's Peres named second-team all-region

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Eastern New Mexico sophomore Gabriel Peres was named Wednesday to the Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association All South Central Region second team, according to a release from the school.

The midfielder is the first player in five seasons to receive an all-region position. That year, the Greyhounds had Kal Herbert make the first team and Julian Roberts and Andy Wilkinson make the second team.

Peres, in his first season with ENMU, was second on the team with 15 points — six goals to go with a team-high three assists.

He was named to the All-Heartland Conference first team after finishing in the Heartland’s top 15 in goals, points and game-winning goals (2).

The Greyhounds went 8-8-2 overall and 6-6-2 in Heartland play. The team was seventh in conference with 20 points and fell a win short of the West Division title.
