STAFF REPORT

Curry County Commission Chairman Wendell Bostwick has received the New Mexico Association of Counties Glass Flame Award.

The award was presented Oct. 13.

NMAC officials said the honor is in recognition of Bostwick’s contributions to improve the quality of life for New Mexico residents.

“Commissioner Bostwick did an exemplary job as NMAC president, initiating a number of innovations, including creation of policy committees,” NMAC Executive Director Steve Kopelman said in a news release.

“He not only served as an NMAC board member, but he also served on the NMAC Multiline Insurance Pool board and the NMAC executive committee. His contribution to NMAC and county government has been immeasurable.”

Officials said NMAC’s Board of Directors is a governing body essential to identifying and advancing NMAC’s policy initiatives on behalf of New Mexico’s 33 counties.
