Clovis police investigated a shooting Saturday evening near the intersection of Elm and Delta streets, but little information was released.
Residents near the scene said they heard shots around 6:30 p.m., then saw a man running from the area before he ran through the alley between Herb and Gary streets.

An ambulance arrived on the scene soon after the gunshots were reported, but it was not clear if anyone had been shot.
An unidentified officer on the scene said there were no fatalities but otherwise directed inquiries to the public information officer on duty.
Attempts to locate a public information officer on duty were not successful.
Police dispatchers declined to provide any information, but left a message for the CNJ for a public information officer or any officer on duty with information about the matter. No information had been provided by press time.
