Lucrative catfish added to waters

Eastern New Mexico fishers have a chance to net $100.

New Mexico Department of Game and Fish officials released five tagged catfish Thursday into a body of water in Clovis as part of a Clovis Chamber of Commerce-sponsored event.

The catfish will have tags that resemble a red wire with numbers. Tags can be brought to the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce at 105 E. Grand St. for the $100 prizes.

Clues about the location will be posted on the Facebook pages for the Department of Game and Fish (facebook.com/nmdgf) and Department of Tourism (facebook.com/NewMexico).

Participants must follow all state fishing rules and regulations.
