New Mexico’s tax-free weekend will begin Friday and conclude Sunday.

Qualifying items can be bought tax free during that period. Such items include clothing or shoes priced at less than $100 per unit; the qualifying price limit on electronic items such as computers, laptops and tablets is $1,000.

During the New Mexico Gross Receipts Tax Holiday, the law provides a deduction from gross receipts for retail sales, which allows the items to be sold tax free.
