ENMRWS in line to get $4 million

The state Water Trust Board is scheduled to make $4 million available to Eastern New Mexico Rural Water System in March, according to a press release from the water system project manager.

The ENMRWS, also Ute Pipeline, would ship drinking water from Ute Reservoir in Quay County to more than a half-dozen entities in eastern New Mexico, including Clovis and Portales.

The new funds are anticipated to complete the design for the Clovis/Cannon Air Force Base and the Clovis/Portales connections, according to the press release.

The Water Trust Board was created in 2001 to provide funding for urgent water infrastructure projects that meet the needs of regional state and water plans.
