• Today’s focus: Family X

• Household members: 4

• Children: 2

• Special circumstance: The family works hard to pay its bills, but the husband has to travel from Clovis to Portales. He also is paying child support.

• Needs: Boy age 4 — wants a play outdoor grill, so he can be like daddy, and he wears size 7 clothes and his shoe size is 13. Boy age 9 — wants Diary of Wimpy Kid book 4 or Legos. He wears X-Large shirts and size 14 pants.

• Who’s helped: More than 220 families who’ve asked the Salvation Army to help make Christmas special.

• Donations: Clovis, can be dropped off at the CNJ, 521 Pile St., or mailed to P.O. Box 1689, Clovis, NM, 88102. Portales, can be dropped off at the PNT, 101 E. 1st St., or mailed to P.O. Box 848, Portales, NM, 88130. Envelopes should be clearly marked “Empty Stocking Fund.” Checks must be payable to The Salvation Army.

Contributions will be forwarded to the Salvation Army office, 317 E. Second St., Clovis, or gifts may be purchased for specific children under 12 years old by choosing an Angel tag off trees located at North Plains Mall, St. Clair Orthodontics and Hastings in Clovis.
