My turn: Glad to share my knowledge

It’s funny sometimes the things that connect you to other people. I haven’t had a clue who reads my column, or in fact, if anyone does. Most of the time, I think there’s probably few and far between who do.

But on occasion, I am pleasantly surprised when I receive a compliment.

My latest surprise, and something I can say has never happened before, was a gentleman calling to ask me for help.link

I answered my office phone and the first words from his mouth were, “You’re the movie guru, right?”

I don’t know about that. I told him I write about movies but I’m far from being a cinema dictionary. I confessed my biggest pastime is mainly due to working a lot and having no social life.

The man is a former Sundland Peanuts employee, who is trying to sell his classic films on VHS to make money until he finds other employment. He figured as a lover of movies, I might like to have some or might know someone who would. He even has the original “Star Wars.” You can’t tell me you’re not intrigued now.

I plan to buy some of his movies but anyone else interested should e-mail or call me. I have his contact information.
