God has a plan for all of us

Do you know God has a plan for you? “’For the plans for you,’ declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”

(Jeremiah 29:11, NIV). God never forgets you.

Think of Abraham. He had trouble believing he and Sarah would have a child in their advanced age. Yet he stayed faithful to God in obedience and God proved faithful.

Consider Joseph. He seemed to go from one problem to another. His brothers put him in a pit and then sold him into slavery. Later, when he refused to sin he ended up in the dungeon. Joseph experienced many hardships, but God was faithful to him. Joseph saved his people from a famine and forgave his brothers. “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to pass as it is this day, to save much people alive (Genesis 50:20, KJV).

Herod certainly tried to have his plans by trying do away with little boys 2 years old and under Yet God had a plan. He sent a divine appointment.

What about God’s plan for Moses? His basket baby bed would one day lead two million Israelites across the Red Sea.

We cannot always see God’s overall plan for our lives, but rest assured God has one for you and me. Whatever you are facing today, take courage and trust in God’s faithfulness. God has a plan for you.

I fondly remember my grandmother’s embroidery. The top side revealed a myriad of beautiful colors in depicting a design of perfect stitches. When I looked at the underside of the embroidery I only saw a mess of threads going nowhere in all directions. It looked all messy and jumbled, but oh, the beauty of the top side.

Sometimes life seems to be going in all directions. That’s when I quickly turn Granny’s embroidery on the beauty side.

God has given us a ‘beautiful side’ because he has a plan.
