Area road construction and closure information for this week:

Curry County

Curry County will be chip sealing County Road O from County Road 9 to State Road 467. Please be advised of minimal usage during the hours listed below.

• Tuesday (6 a.m.-4 p.m.) — First layer of chip seal
• Wednesday (6 a.m.-4 p.m.) — Second layer of chip seal

Area residents should seek alternate routes. Driving on fresh oil not only damages the road, but makes a mess of your vehicle.

State and Federal

Traffic will be restricted to one lane in Portales on east Second Street east of Avenue C to allow roadwork by Constructors Inc. Also, westbound traffic will be restricted to one lane on First and Second streets east of Avenue C to Avenue K. Expect some closures on lateral side streets.
