Voice of Democracy Winner
Derek Garcia is the regional winner of the VFW Voice of Democracy contest. Garcia will compete at the national level in March in Washington D.C.
Garcia is a member of the Dora Class of 2014 and is the oldest son of Gregory and AnnMarie Garcia of Portales.
Science fair winners
The following Dora students will compete at the Southeastern New Mexico Regional Science Fair on March 2 at Eastern New Mexico University:
Jessica Barron, Velinda Fierro, Savannah Kircher, Daelynn Lee, Sabrina Roberts, Hanna Stacy and Megan Stacy. Students who place well at the regional level will compete at the national level later this year.
Basketball
Today-Jal hosts Dora junior varsity and varsity at 4 p.m.
Saturday-Dora hosts Logan junior varsity boys and varsity boys 4 p.m.
