Local Brief - U.S.70 to be completed soon

U.S. 70 construction should be finished this week, according to a press release from the New Mexico Department of Transportation and Constructors Inc.

Traffic will move from the south lane to the newly constructed north lane. Most intersections will be opened on Second Street, according to the press release.

Only one lane of traffic will be open from Avenue K to Avenue C so officials said to expect some delays during peak traffic hours.

Construction will continue in the north lane on westbound First Street through Avenue K until the month of December.

Project officials ask that everyone observe the posted speed limit and be cautious of equipment and personnel.
