Fire destroys Clovis residence

A residence was destroyed by fire Saturday in the 2200 block of Chapparal Avenue, according to a report from the Clovis Fire Department. No injuries were reported, with the cause under investigation. According to the report:

• The department was dispatched to the location, in a mobile home park, at 11:05 p.m. for a report of a house and vehicle on fire. Four units responded.
• Upon arrival at 11:08, dispatch informed command that a neighbor had heard an explosion, which staff later discovered to be a propane tank on the underside of the home.
• The fire was knocked down on the vehicle, then the residence.
