Meetings watch: Board of Education

The following budget adjustment increases were made at a special meeting held by the Portales Municipal Schools Board of Education Monday in the Administration Building:

• $16,433 for rural and low-income schools
• $4,725 and $1,350 for impact aid special education
• $411,022 for capital improvements
• $703 for operational costs
• $8,747 for preschool
• $320,774 to provide extended day/summer school salaries/benefits, professional development/stipends, planners, wireless generation, etc
• $4,059 for migrant children education
