Candidate debate

Don't forget the Portales municipal candidate forum 6 p.m. Monday at the Yam Theatre.

Candidates will give opening statements on their interest in their positions then be presented questions.

Party politics

The Democratic Party County Convention is 6 p.m. Tuesday at Clovis-Carver Public Library.

State central committee members and delegates elected at the convention will attend state pre-primary convention in Albuquerque on March 10.

On this day in 1922 i n Washington, D.C., the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, providing women the right to vote, is unanimously declared constitutional by the eight members of the U.S. Supreme Court.
