Locomotive relocation postponed

A retired locomotive is staying at Hillcrest Park for at least the weekend.

The 105-year-old locomotive, set to be moved to the Clovis Depot Model Train Museum, was not moved Thursday, and inclement weather should nix any possible weekend movement plans, Clovis Community Development Director Claire Burroughes said.

The move is set for some time next week, Burroughes said, weather permitting. The locomotive must be moved by Dec. 31 to qualify for funding it has received through a combination of New Mexico MainStreet and private dollars.
