Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Tuesday briefing.

Free dinners

Two free Thanksgiving dinners available in the region Thursday.

In Clovis, the Lighthouse Misson’s annual citywide Thanksgiving banquet is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.

It’s turkey and all the usual Thanksgiving feast fixings and it’s free and open to the public, part of the mission’s “No one has to be alone for the holidays” campaign.

Also, the Portales Outreach Free Thanksgiving Dinner is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Memorial Building. Information: 356-6662 ext. 1018.

Free music

The annual Eastern new Mexico University trumpet recital is at 7 p.m. today in Buchanan Hall of the Music Building.

The event is free and open to the public. Information: 562-2377.

Kitchen tip

Store spices in a cool, dark place, not above your stove. Humidity, light and heat will cause herbs and spices to lose their flavor.
