Police blotter — Oct. 2

Samplings of recent calls made to Portales law enforcement, according to police records:

Monday

• At 8:50 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Oklahoma Drive in reference to an auto burglary. The victim told the officer that the previous night, someone had entered his unlocked Ford pickup truck and stolen his wallet.

The man did not know who the suspect could have been and there were no fingerprints found on the vehicle. The case is inactive.

• At 2:50 p.m., an officer responded to a call concerning criminal damage. A woman told the officer that sometime during the week, someone had “keyed” her car. She said the damage most likely occurred while her car was parked at a shopping store.

The officer reported that a linear scratch ran down the length of both sides of the car. Damage was estimated at $1,000. There are no suspects at this time and the case is currently inactive.
