Roosevelt General Hospital is hosting a free health fair Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon to celebrate the birth and first 10 years of your hospital.

Adults can go to RGH and have their blood drawn through Friday and come to the health fair to pick up their results.

On Saturday, they can visit with an onsite provider and have other free screenings completed by RGH staff. This blood panel includes BUN, creatinine, cholesterol, and hemoglobin A1c tests. The cost is $35 and fasting is not required.

Blood draws will not be available the day of the health fair.

A variety of free screenings being offered onsite include blood pressure, blood sugar, vision screenings, BMI calculations, and pain assessments. Healthy Stations will be set up to provide more information. Stations include digital imaging featuring MRI, CT, x-ray, and digital mammography; rehabs services for physical therapy and speech pathology, and cardiopulmonary services to include lung capacity tests.

The pharmacy department’s station will focus on medication counseling for drug-to-drug interactions, drug and food interactions, and drug and disease state interactions.

Healthy education seminars will also be offered by staff on fall prevention, proper lifting, home safety and diabetes.

Dr. Anne Grayson will present on colorectal health and Darlene Jenkins, CFNP will be teaching the how-to’s of self-exams for men and women.

Other partners onsite will be AeroCare, Portales Fire Department and EMS, and the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office.
