Clovis police hosting National Night Out on Tuesday

The Clovis Police Department’s annual National Night Out is planned from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday night at Greene Acres Park.

The event is held with the intention of heightening crime and drug prevention awareness, to generate support for local crime efforts, to strengthen neighborhood spirit and to send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back, a release said.

Games will be available for children and adults, along with information and food vendors. Available activities will include a Dunk-a-Cop booth, DWI Karts, bouncy houses, child ID kits, school immunizations and a swat display.

Participating entities include: Clovis Police, New Mexico State Police, the Curry County Sheriff’s Office, state Motor Transportation Division, the Livestock Board, Cannon Security Forces, Aerocare, The New Mexico Health Department and more.

Bring children’s shot records if interested in receiving school immunizations.

CATS buses will provide transportation to and from the event with pick-up beginning at 6 p.m. at Potter Park, the Allsups parking lot at Brady Avenue and Prince Street, Roy Walker Community Center and Bella Vista Elementary School.
