Clovis beats Alamogordo 40-0 for Roanhaus' 300th win

Eric Ronahaus' 300th coaching career win at Clovis was much like his first 299. A powerful running game, a few passes and stout defense.

Roanhaus is third all-time in footbal wins behind Jim Braley (310) and Bill Gentry (305).

Quran Wiggins and Juan Rivas ran for two touchdowns each as the Wildcats beat visiting Alamogordo 40-0 in the season-opener for both teams.

Wiggins scored on runs of 5 and 12 yards in the first half for the Wildcats, who are ranked fourth in Class 5A. Rivas scored on runs of 8 and 3 yards and added a pair of interceptions on defense.

The Cats also scored runs of 38 yards by senior quarterback Jordan Hill and 1 yard by junior Raymond Beachum.

Rivas added a pair of interceptions for the Wildcats, who forced four turnovers.
