Portales man arrested for kidnapping

A Portales man has been arrested for kidnapping in connection with a beating incident last month. Police said they are searching for two other men who may have also been involved.

Randall O’Hare, 24, was arrested Friday, posted a $10,000 bond and was released.

Luis “Jax” Pietrzak, 26, of Portales said he suffered multiple scrapes and bruises and a broken tooth and spent two days in Roosevelt General Hospital.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit:

• Police believe O’Hare drove a green minivan used to kidnap Pietrzak on the night of July 1. The men placed a trash bag over Pietrzak’s head, put him in the van, and tied his hands and feet with duct tape.

• He was beaten and kicked numerous times as the attackers drove him out of town near a dairy on Roosevelt Road 10. After stripping Pietrzak of his clothing and property, he was released on the side of the road where a passing truck driver found him.

O’Hare could not be reached for comment.
