Fun run/walk to benefit fireworks show

A fun run/walk has been added to the list of events held on the Fourth of July in Clovis.

Cory and Kala Adair of Clovis said they drove to other cities in eastern New Mexico and west Texas to participate in walks and runs. The couple decided to start one here in Clovis.

The event will benefit the Smoke on the Water Fireworks Show.

The walk will start at the Main Street Gateway at 8 a.m. and continue down Main Street to Greene Acres Park, around the lake sidewalk and back to the gateway.

Entry fee is $15. Entries received by June 28 are guaranteed a race T-shirt. Late entries will be accepted at 7 a.m. race day at the New Mexico WorkForce parking lot.
