Winners of the K through ENMU art exhibition named Thursday:

• First place: Braden Tucker, Portales High School sophomore, watercolor titled “A Rainy Evening.” Prize is $100.

• Second place: Kristen Wagner, Portales Junior High School eighth-grader, drawing titled “Man’s Attempt to Harness the Sun.” Prize is $100.

• Third place: Kary Mathys, Eastern New Mexico University junior, oil painting titled “Frustration.” Prize is $50.

Honorable Mention: Emily DeSoto, Eastern New Mexico University freshman, black and white photograph titled “To Be Simple Is to Be Pretty.” Prize is $50 online art supplies gift certificate.

The K through ENMU sidewalk chalk drawing competition is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, with food and live music on the Portales Square.
