Freedom New Mexico

A concert aimed at establishing a new scholarship is set for noon to midnight Saturday at the Portales Softball Complex.

“Focused and Full of Hope” features music by Thousand Year Reign, Blackwater, Crash Wednesday, Groupo Celio Spanish and Mexican, the Kacee Lovato Band, Kevin and Maggie Gardels, Johnny and Jill Mulhair, Will Bannister, and Jorden Craig.

Organizers said the goal is to use profits for establishing a Kacee Lovato scholarship at Eastern New Mexico University.

Lovato died in a Jan. 29 car crash near Dora.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children age 12 and older. Children under 12 get in free.
