Habitat for Humanity of Roosevelt and Curry counties has scheduled a volunteer workday today to repair recent vandalism to the newest Habitat house.
The workday is set for 8 a.m. until midafternoon, with lunch provided about 11:30 a.m., at 309 E. Kaywood Street. Volunteers will continue repairing vandalized appliances and water damage, as well as working on the house’s shed.
Before the house’s owner moved in, someone broke in, damaged appliances and left water running, according to Habitat information. The problem was discovered after water was seen pouring from gaps between the foundation and walls.
