Clovis man gets 13 years for child molestation

A 24-year-old Clovis man was sentenced to 13 years imprisonment for child molestation, according to the district attorney's office.

Nathaniel Allen Steward pleaded guilty Thursday to charges of criminal sexual penetration of a minor and two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor, court records show.

According to a press release from the district attorney's office, it was the second time in 10 years Steward was convicted on similar charges.

In April 2008, law enforcement was anonymously notified that the mother of a 13-year-old had allowed Steward, a convicted sex offender, to move into her home and that her child was exhibiting withdrawn behavior, the release said.

When interviewed, the child revealed sexual abuses and Steward was arrested, the release said.

Following his prison sentence, Steward will be required to serve 20 years supervised probation.
