Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
A Clovis man was sentenced Thursday to more than seven years in prison after being convicted for a 2007 home invasion, according to a press release from the district attorney’s office.
Shane Medina, 24, was found guilty by a jury of breaking and entering, criminal damage to property, criminal trespass and battery, the release said.
According to the release:
• In October 2007, a couple told Curry County sheriff’s deputies and state police a stranger kicked in their door and attacked them. The husband told police he tried to fight off the stranger, who went outside and began kicking in a window to the residence.
• Officers located Medina, who matched the description of the suspect, in a nearby house.
• Medina will be required to serve seven-and-a-half years imprisonment followed by two years supervised probation.
