Bank receives MainStreet award

First Community Bank of Portales received a community award from the New Mexico MainStreet program at its annual awards program Saturday in Raton, according to a press release.

First Community Bank is among 12 statewide recipients of the award. The program serves 21 affiliated communities in New Mexico.

Open meetings/records seminar set

Attorney Gen. Gary King is holding an open meetings and open records seminar Friday in Albuquerque at the Radisson Hotel at Carlisle and I-40.

Registration is at 8:30 a.m.

The program has been developed for school administrators, city and county managers and government officials.

Continuing education credits are available.
