Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 1 a.m. July 4 an officer responded to the 300 block of Sycamore Street for a robbery report.

A man said he was walking home from a convenience store when a male and female suspect started following him, asking for money.

He said the male suspect knocked him to the ground and took his wallet.

The man said he fought back but the suspects ran away.

About 11 a.m. July 4 an officer responded to the 400 block of Rencher for a battery report.

A woman said she was sitting on her porch when a man came up and asked her for some matches.

She said she told him she didn’t have any and he reached out and squeezed her breast.

When she told him to leave, she said he tried to apologize.

The man told the officer he went to see if the woman needed help because she had been arguing with a male subject and seemed upset.

He said he never touched her.

The officer told the woman how to file charges in municipal court.

At an undisclosed time and location July 4, sheriff’s deputies arrested a suspect for minor in possession of alcohol.

Officers using an adult female Internet chat profile were contacted by a male they knew to be out of jail on bond after they arrested him previously in an Internet child solicitation case.

The 19-year-old male made arrangements to go to the decoy’s residence and to provide alcohol to the fictitious female.

The male was arrested when he arrived at the residence with a bottle of tequila.

About 11 p.m. July 4 an officer responded to a residence in the 3000 block of Cesar Chavez Drive for a battery report.

A man with blood covering his face and shirt said he had an altercation with his wife and mother-in-law.

The man said his mother-in-law began arguing with him because she didn’t like the way he yelled at his stepson. He said she got in his face and yelled at him and he pushed his hands against her.

He said both women then came at him, hitting him for pushing her. He said he remembered getting hit with a beer bottle in the chest but didn’t know what other things they hit him with.

He said when he felt blood running down his face, he left the house to get away from them.

The women said there was an argument but they didn’t know how he got hurt.
