Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Police responded to a report of criminal damage at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of North Prince. They found three large windows of a business shattered. Cost to replace the windows was estimated at $2,200.

Police responded to a report of burglary and larceny at 11:07 a.m. Wednesday in the 2100 block of Mitchell Street. A man told police someone had taken several items from his truck, including an iPod Nano, $40 cash and a pair of Puma tennis shoes, as well as approximately 70 DVDs from his apartment. Estimated value of the missing items was $1,750.

Police and Animal Control responded to a report of a dog bite at 12:40 p.m. Thursday in the 2100 block of Ross Street. A man was installing cable in the backyard of a home. The owner was present, and a dog was tied up in the yard. The owner the left the yard. When the man climbed down from a ladder, the dog bit him on the left calf. The dog, a pit bull/Labrador mix, was taken to the animal shelter.

Police responded to a report of a fight involving a knife at 4:31 p.m in the 3100 block of North Main Street. One man started fighting with a second man. The first man got a steak knife from the kitchen and threatened to stab the second man. The second man took the knife away, cutting his thumb as he did so. A 36-year-old man was arrested on felony charges of aggravated battery on a household member and assault with intent to commit a violent felony.
