Seniors will meet Thursday at the Floyd Senior Citizens Center for games and fellowship. Pot Luck is at 6 p.m. and games begin at 7 p.m.

Deaths

Tommy Goff died over the weekend.

Births

Houston and Mary Lee are grandparents again. A son was born Oct. 16 to Chris and Susan Lee of Los Alamos. Zachary Daniel Lee was 6 pounds, 3.7 ounces and 20 inches long. Other grandparents are Lanier and Kathleen Dickerson of Bryson City, N.C.

Bridal shower

There will be a bridal shower for Samantha Hudson and Adam Burns 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Christian Campus House, 207 S. Ave. K. Burns is the son of John and Mary Lou Kropp and is a graduate from Floyd High School. The wedding will be Nov. 10.

School news

Saturday is the annual Floyd Junior Carnival, beginning at 5 p.m. There will be games, Bingo and an auction and a dance from 8-11:55 p.m. A concession stand will also be open 5-8 p.m.

Football

Friday — Logan at Floyd. Junior high plays at 2 p.m., varsity at 4. This is the last home game of the regular season.

Volleyball

Thursday — Floyd at Dora. Junior high, junior varsity and varsity will all play, beginning at 4:30. This is the last game of the regular season. District tourney begins next week.
