Cannon raises record donations

Cannon Air Force Base personnel donated a record amount of money this year to a charitable fund for national and international non-profit groups, according to a release from the Eastern New Mexico Combined Federal Campaign.

The Combined Federal Campaign is the only authorized annual fund that solicited federal employees for charitable organizations, the release said.

Cannon personnel donated $111,277 to the federal campaign this year, 23 percent more money than the previous record set in 2003, the release said.

Some of the money will be divided between eight and 10 Clovis charitable groups, according to United Way Eastern of New Mexico Executive Director Erinn Burch.
