Clelley Alvin “C.A.” House, 88, of Clovis, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at his home.

He was born on Oct. 6, 1916, in Tucumcari, to Joseph Franklin and Bertha V. Gore House.

When the family moved from Winslow, Ariz., to New Mexico they settled south of Clovis. After a few years the family moved to the Ranchvale community. He drove a school bus during his senior year and graduated in 1934. He married Imagene Matlock on March 6, 1943. He began farming in 1948 and retired in 1981. He taught Sunday school class and served as a deacon for the Ranchvale Baptist Church, Central Baptist Church and Parkland Baptist Church. He was a member of Parkland Baptist Church.

Family members said he loved traveling, fishing and enjoyed carpentry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Donita House; four brothers, Jesse, Fred, Everett and Cecil House; and two sisters, Alice Williams and Ethel Kleim.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jeanie Stone and Janita Stanfield (and husband, Eddie), all of Clovis; four grandsons, Wayne Harpold (Laura) of Kansas City, Mo., William Brent Harpold (Lorna) and Waylon Harpold (La Shona), all of Clovis, and Neal Stanfield (Ginger) of Waco, Texas; a granddaughter, Mandy Cowley (Kelby) of Lubbock; three great-grandsons, Tryston, Seth and Caxton Harpold, all of Clovis; two great-granddaughters, Sunny Cowley of Lubbock and Gentry Stanfield of Waco, Texas; a brother, Oscar House of Amarillo; and a sister, Cordie Davis of Ajo, Ariz.

Doug Brooks and Herbert Bergstrom will officiate the services.

Pallbearers are Eddie and Neal Stanfield, William, Wayne, and Waylon Harpold and Kelby Cowley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkland Baptist Church building fund.
