Police Blotter 4/28

About 1 p.m. Friday, police responded to a Clovis junior high school where the assistant principal had a 15-year-old male student in his office who had admitted to grabbing the breast of a 14-year-old female student. Police told the boy what he did was illegal, issued him a juvenile citation, and advised the boy’s mother they would inform her before they did anything further in the case.

Police responded about 5 p.m. Friday to the 700 block of North Oak where an 11-year-old boy said he had been kidnapped. The boy said he was at the corner of Fifth and Lea streets when a gold car pulled up and a man got out and threw him in the car.

The boy said he was taken to a house but escaped out the back door and ran home. Police took the boy to the house he identified but nobody was home at the time. Police transferred the case to the detective division.

A resident at the 400 block of North Oak called police about 12:40 p.m. Saturday to report that his black 1992 Honda Accord had been stolen.

The man said the car was last seen at 10:30 p.m. Friday and that he may have left the keys in the vehicle.

A 28-year-old Clovis woman called police about 2:40 p.m. Saturday to report that her 1999 Nissan Altima had been borrowed and not returned by two friends while the three of them were at a Clovis bar.

The woman said they promised to return her car in an hour but did not do so. Five hours later she received a call telling her where she could pick up her car but her car was not at the specified address.

While patrolling a Clovis grocery store parking lot about 10 p.m. Saturday, police noticed an 18- and 19-year-old woman fighting in the lot. Police arrested both for public affray.

Police responded about 10:15 a.m. Sunday to a church parking lot where a 19-year-old man said he had just been robbed at gunpoint.

The man was visibly upset when police arrived and told them another man had pulled a handgun out of the back of his pants and demanded all his money. The man gave the robber his wallet containing $17 to $19 and then went inside the church to report the robbery.

The victim described his assailant as being a Hispanic male, late teens to early 20s, about 5-feet-9-inches tall and wearing a blue baseball cap with the letter “B” in orange on the cap. The man was wearing a black and white bandana, black and white long sleeve flannel shirt, and black pants.

About 4 p.m. Sunday, police noticed a man riding a skateboard near the corner of Sixth and Mitchell streets whose description matched a person with an outstanding arrest warrant for disposal of stolen property.

Police stopped the man, served him the warrant, and also booked him for possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine.
